A tough day offensively for Northwest allowed Nebraska Kearney to jump in front early as they rolled to a 59-35 win Saturday afternoon.
The Bearcats (3-5) were stifled by the top scoring defense in the MIAA and limited to just 19.4-percent shooting for the day.
Northwest trailed by six early in the second quarter when UNK went on a 7-0 run to extend the lead their advantage to 13 points. The Lopers' lead never shrank below 10 the rest of the way.
Molly Harnett scored 8 points and pulled in 5 rebounds for Northwest. Mallory McConkey added 6 points and 3 rebounds.
The Bearcats return home for the first time since December 5 Tuesday night for a matchup with Emporia State at 5pm.
